New aero package tested under night conditions
BowFlow v3.2 undergoes low-light wind tunnel validation ahead of the Monaco Night Sprint.
The Aero Lab has completed a comprehensive night-condition testing programme for the BowFlow v3.2 aero package, specifically calibrated for the unique thermal and visibility challenges of the Monaco Night Sprint.
Using the team's proprietary low-turbulence wind tunnel with simulated night thermal gradients, engineers validated that the active front splitter and DRS rear wing maintain consistent downforce profiles across temperature deltas of up to 18°C.
Lead Aerodynamicist Lena Hartmann reported a 6% improvement in cooling efficiency through the side-pod intake channels under night operating conditions.
"Night racing introduces variables that daylight testing cannot replicate," Hartmann explained. "Our aero package is now optimised for the full spectrum of race conditions on our calendar."
